The Center for the Study of African Instituted Churches (CESAIC)
The seminary is in the process of establishing The Center for the Study of African Instituted Churches (CESAIC). This is in line with one of the three principles for the establishment of the seminary - to document various religious experiences of African Instituted Church (AIC) leaders. Founders of the seminary were of the view that such documentations will facilitate the understanding of the doctrines and practices of AICs. Despite the mammoth growth and influence of AICs there is no centre in Africa where one can go and have access to their histories, religious experiences, social contributions, activities, etc. In Europe, the Selly Oak College of the University of Birmingham in the city of Birmingham is the only place such a center is located. Harold Turner, one of the foremost researchers of the AICs, established the Selly Oak center at a time when political instability was rife in many African countries. Many Africans do not have the resources to visit the center due to its location in Europe. In fact, some people even doubt the usefulness of the center due to its location. Planned to be the foremost educational center for the training of AICs, it is just prudent to establish The Center for the Study of African Instituted Churches (CESAIC). A book is available that is a practical introduction to AICs and their call to mission. It was co-written by Rev. Dr. Thomas Oduro, Principal of GNTCS. Please click here.
