Opportunities to Contribute
Donations for Scholarships, Emergency Funds, Facilities Development, and Staff/
Faculty Salary supplements are being accepted by The North American Committee
for the Development of Good News Theological College and Seminary (NACD-GNTCS),
a committee of Global Horizons, Inc. They are also accepting wills and
annuities for the purpose of building the Endowment to maintain the school in the
future.
Rev. Lynn Hansen, Director of NACD-GNTCS, explained that the Committee has
for years been collecting and sending funds for the monthly Salary Supplement and Facilities.
It
became apparent that, in Africa, emergencies come up unexpectedly and there must
be funding source to cover them. For example, when the faculty were striving to meet
a deadline toward the school’s accreditation, the power kept going out. All their data
was on dead computers! They e-mailed the Committee asking for funds to buy solar
panels to give them a reliable power source. The Committee wired the funds. The
school administration quickly purchased equipment that provided power during the
blackouts and the documentation was sent in on time for the school to be accredited.
Scholarships enable more leaders to get the training they need and provide more
operating funds for the school. The Committee’s desire is that funds to support the
school come from Africa. Unfortunately, most of the prospective students are too poor
to pay a tuition that would support the school. Scholarships would do it.
Donations can be designated for Salary Supplement, Facilities, Emergency
Fund, Scholarships, and the Endowment. All donations, minus 7% administration
fee, are sent to the school to disburse as they see the need. Donations are made
through Global Horizons, Inc. To donate go the the GHI website, http://globalhz.org/ and click on
